Crayman Harvey brings over 20 years of distinguished law enforcement experience to his role as Founder and CEO of Harvey Consulting Group, LLC. Currently serving as the Jail Director for Richland County—home to one of South Carolina’s largest correctional facilities—Mr. Harvey has made a lasting impact by implementing forward-thinking correctional practices and overseeing critical structural improvements that have transformed the jail’s culture.

Before his role in Richland County, Mr. Harvey held key leadership positions in South Carolina’s Department of Juvenile Justice, including Juvenile Justice Detention Director and Regional Director. These roles deepened his understanding of rehabilitation and juvenile corrections, shaping his belief in the power of second chances and the importance of rehabilitative justice.

Throughout his career, Mr. Harvey has excelled in a wide range of law enforcement capacities, from Operations Lieutenant in county corrections to Assistant Supervisor in a city police force and Deputy Sheriff. His breadth of experience in both corrections and law enforcement leadership has equipped him with the insight and strategic acumen necessary to drive organizational change and public safety improvements.

In addition to his practical experience, Mr. Harvey is also passionate about education. He is an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice at a technical college, where he leverages his real-world knowledge to prepare the next generation of law enforcement professionals. He firmly believes that hands-on experience is essential to truly understanding the complexities of the field.

Mr. Harvey’s professional credentials reflect his commitment to excellence in law enforcement and corrections. He is a nationally certified jail manager through the American Jail Association, Certified as a Correctional Health Professional with the National Commission of Correctional Health Care, and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of South Carolina. His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Leo University and a Master of Arts in Administration of Justice from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, he has earned a Master Certificate in High-Performance Leadership from the National Association of Counties (NACO). Mr. Harvey is also certified as a Class 1 and Class 2 law enforcement officer and serves as a field training officer.

Mr. Harvey’s leadership is guided by his dedication to innovation, ethical practices, and community-focused policing. Under his guidance, Harvey Consulting Group, LLC is committed to delivering solutions that not only enhance agency performance but also build trust and accountability between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
